In honor of Merra Hynes ~ support for her family

Hi my name is Erika Carter and I am best friends with Lesley Martin ~ loving mother of Merra Hynes.

With a broken heart I reach out to ask for support on behalf of the Martin/Hynes family.

On Thursday May 29th Merra unexpectedly passed away at only 19 years old. Her sudden loss has left her family, friends and all who knew her absolutely shattered.

Merra was truly one of the good ones, the one who could make everyone around her better simply by being herself. She was a beam of light in the lives of everyone she met and is her mother’s pride and joy! Merra gave the BEST hugs, she had a heart of gold, an infectious smile, a generous spirit, deep compassion for everyone she met and most of all she had immense love and devotion for her family and friends

Merra was a sweet, loving perfect daughter, precious little sister to 2 protective big brothers, she was the perfect big sissy to her 4 year old sister who was her world. She was a wonderful and loyal friend, a smart and determined Acadia University student about to start her 3rd year into her degree to become a teacher. A beautiful soul who left an impact on everyone she met.

This kind of loss is something no parent should ever have to endure. While we cannot replace the loving daughter and sister the Martin/Hynes family has lost, we can come together as a community to ensure they have the support they need during this heartbreaking time.

If donations exceed the expenses needed by the family to cover these unexpected expenses that noone could have anticipated, the remaining amount will be donated to the Turners Syndrome Society of Canada in Merra’s name.
