In Honor of Elijah Alexander Prox

As many of you know, baby Elijah Alexander Prox was born and went to be with Jesus on May 7, 2019. Carl and Dasha were able to spend most of the day with baby Eli- getting fingerprints, pictures and most importantly quality time. As their hearts break, they also want to thank every person who has shown their support and who have prayed mightily over the last few days.

On Thursday, May 2nd, Dasha was admitted into the hospital with severe preeclampsia and a liver infection. The doctors told her and Carl that the best option would be to terminate the pregnancy since she was such a high risk at only 21 weeks. This was not an option for either mom or dad so they prayed and asked others to pray with them. Dasha's health was getting a little better- her blood pressure went from 171 back down to 114 and some of the cells in her liver were healing. This went on for a couple of days but then her blood pressure skyrocketed once again and her liver started to get worse. The doctors told us that Dasha's life was in extreme danger and that the blood to Elijah was being cut off.  Carl and Dasha were left to make the hardest decision they will probably ever have to make. After many questions and trying to come to terms with what was going on, they decided to induce labor in order to save mom's life and the small chance of saving baby Elijah.

On the early morning of May 7th, baby Elijah came into the world but felt absolutely no pain- he passed instantly. Carl and Dasha said he was the most beautiful creation they had ever seen and that baby Elijah was literally smiling and looked completely at peace.

The trauma of the last couple days cannot be expressed in a couple paragraphs- it is literally impossible. However, Carl and Dasha believe that our God is faithful and good. We do please ask that you would continue pray for both of them. This will not be an easy road and grief will be part of the process.

I have had quite a few people ask how they can help- whether bringing meals, praying or giving financially. We decided to start a GoFundMe to offset any medical costs (this is including the cremation/memorial plaque), time off work, food, bills and helping  with travel expenses. As most of you know, Dasha is from Transnistria- which is where Carl and her met. Sadly, Dasha's family was unable to be by her side physically during this difficult time. We know how hard this was for Dasha and for her loved ones back home. Dasha will need some time over the next month or two to start healing physically but we also know that feeding her soul and helping her through this emotionally is also extremely important. Carl and Dasha are praying that they will be able to go to her home country at some point this year but we all know how expensive that is. My prayer is that we can come together and try to get them there. During their stay they will need an apartment and pay for all the essentials (food, internet, bills, etc) which will need to last 2 months or so.  We know this will be a true blessing to both Carl and Dasha. If you are able to give financially to help them with their basic needs now and hopefully to get Dasha back home for a short trip, that would amazing.

Thank you again for all the love and support. Carl and Dasha have felt so loved...and so did baby Elijah. ❤️
