In this small daycare, 30 children between the ages of 0 and 4 spend their days in a single room. They come from homes where safety is not a given. The children face neglect, abuse, or environments affected by addiction.

The daycare was started by a former teacher who couldn’t ignore what was happening to these children. She left her job to create a safe place where they could be cared for, even with very limited resources.

There are no toilets, no chairs, no tableware. The children all drink from the same single cup. There’s no kitchen to prepare meals and no shaded area for them to play outside. Despite these challenges, this daycare is often the only place where these children feel safe. More support is desperately needed to improve their basic living conditions and provide them with the care they deserve.
