Ben's Medical Marijuana Arrest

While both issues are in Minnesota, this truly is a national issue with many patients in the balance.
On June 4th , Ben was arrested in Jackson County Minnesota and charged with felony possession for being accused of having cannabis on his person. However, Ben is a legal medical marijuana patient who purchased the medicine legally and through medical dispensaries in Colorado. Ben was travelling to Minnesota in the hopes of helping his family and father who was suffering from terminal cancer, his father also believed that cannabis provided much medicinal value. Ben spent the weekend in jail and released after posting bail. Not only did Ben's father pass away 2 months later but he died not knowing if Ben would be a convicted criminal or a medical patient. Ben is facing jail time and more all for using a substance that is not dangerous and reffered to him by a physician. Asking for help only because this issue is something that will affect more than only Ben.

This issue is something that needs to be addressed as patients should not be forced to seperate themselves from their medicine when leaving the state. Or parents who are facing charges of child endangerment for finding a medicinal solution to their childs suffering.
