My name is Shae Downey and I am here to ask for help.
This school year has been very difficult for me. I have been severely cyber bullied (once again). I was treated like garbage and bullied for just being me...... DIFFERENT..... A NERD.
My mom moved me from Los Angeles to Palm Desert to have a better life style and school system, but the same type of kids got to me once again, and through my weakness bullied me so bad to where sunk into a deep depression and had no more hope. I am now home hospital schooled, doctors’ orders. On top of all of this, I was punched so hard last year in school that I now have a brain injury. Things can be very difficult for me because of this but, I am in therapy and have great doctors and I don't know what I would do without my amazing mom!!!
Last summer, my mom got a scholarship for me to attend a film school in San Diego called Digital Gym.
www.digitalgym.org. It is there where I found my passion for directing films. I directed my first film and won an award. It's called "Confined"
My mom found a summer film school at the Idyllwild Arts Academy www.idyllwildarts.org and applied for a scholarship for me to attend, starting June 5th, 2017.
I HAVE JUST BEEN ACCEPTED with a partial scholarship of $2,000. Total tuition, including room, board and food is $5,000. I need to raise the remaining $2,000 in the next 10- days.
This is a once and a life time opportunity for me. Attending this school gives me hope, I will have a chance to get out of bed and do what I love to do, making films. We just found out yesterday, that I have been accepted but with the partial scholarship. I thought to myself, there is no way in hell I can raise this money, but In the past 24 hours I have raised $350 from friends. I now feel some excitement, some hope, which I have not felt in such a long time.

If I can, I would like to send the complete project of what I make over the summer.
