Help Ian recover from hit-and-run!

Donation protected

My former coworker/"glacier roommate" Ian Fuller and his friend were randomly hit by another vehicle while driving home from work on a scooter in Fort Lauderdale, Florida last Tuesday the 11th of February. The road-raged driver has been arrested for aggravated battery as this was not an accident, and has done this before to others! They were very lucky to survive the hit and run with only road rash and Ian's broken foot, however this is resulting in thousands of dollars in emergency room fees, medical bills and excessive orthopedic rehabilitation charges that may not be covered by the drivers insurance, due to the fact that it was not an accident. In addition, his broken foot means he is out of work for an extended recovery, and desperately needs help to fund basic living expenses to remain in Florida another 1- 2 months+ for his orthopedic rehabilitation/recovery, as well as the criminal prosecution of the convicted felon who crashed into him.

I am so proud of my good friend Ian who dedicates the majority of his time to caring for and saving wild animals around the world from the Amazon to Alaska, and can't wait to get back on his feet, literally, to keep living his life's passion. I recently heard of the success of fundraising campaigns through gofundme.com, and with all the wonderful family and friends we are fortunate to have, I thought this would be worth sharing. We ask that you please help Ian in his time of need in any small way that you can. Ian is a very special person who I am lucky to have encountered in my life - honest, energetic, passionate, caring... I just want to help him on his road to recovery so that he can get back to his good work. As Ian recovers, I pray for the maximum penalty to the person who did this to him and his friend and hope that justice will be served.

Thank you from me, and Ian, and his family for your help!

Sincerely,
Maio Nishkian

Ian and I doing some marketing and advertising down at the Seward harbor/marina with our retired sled dog friend. We lived on Godwin Glacier in the mountain range behind us in this photo while working together as Animal Handlers/Tour Guides for Seward Helicopter Tours in Alaska during the summer of 2012.

Ian with Walter and Hamm, 2 of the orphaned musk oxen calves he helped bottle raise during his other seasonal position as a wildlife rescue specialist at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. I was lucky Ian was able to introduce me to these amazing animals that summer!

This is Greta, the Amazonian Giant River Otter orphan Ian helped rehabilitate when he volunteered his animal expertise to work with rescued wildlife in Bolivia and Peru half of 2013.

Ian and his orphaned mountain lion friend Carlos whom he spent 3 months caring for in the jungles of Bolivia, South America.

Even when Ian's in the middle of the ocean working on boats to fund his animal projects, he's still searching for animals, like riding the bow on dolphin watch. :)

Ian and his lovely parents who he is very close with.

This is the inspirational Ian I know, full of joy and determined to live all of his childhood dreams! Let's help him recover and get back to where he belongs, working hard to help animals and enjoying life to the fullest!
