Karen unexpectedly passed away on November 17, 2014.  Her light and love brought joy throughout the central Texas skateboarding community for many years where she attended college and worked in the skate industry.  Karen was an Austin staple. There was never a smile brighter than hers.

We are looking to raise $7,300.00 for the installation and lifetime maintenance of 3 memorial benches for our friend, Karen Oakes.  Each bench costs upwards of $2,400.  We would like one placed at the "Heath Eiland and Morgan Moss BMX Skate Park" and the "Mable Davis Skate Park," in Austin, Texas, and the third bench, we would like placed at the newest skate park in Houston, Texas.  Thank you for any and all contributions!
