Get the Kanz Kids Home!

Many of you have been invested in our adoption story for a LONG time. In fact, this weekend, someone said to me, "I feel like we all are invested in this process." For the past 4 years, our family has been committed to getting Jasmine and Calvin home from Haiti where they have been living in an orphanage. Heather and Grace have gone to visit them 5 times in the past 3 years. The two of them, along with our 5 year old Tessa, have been in Haiti for the past 7 weeks trying to complete the necessary steps to finalize our adoption while Ian and I have held down the fort at home.  Regardless of the time we have been able to spend with our children, it is never enough. The process has been tedious and frustrating, yet the joy of spending time with the kids cannot be matched.  We cannot wait until they are home with us and that our family of 7 is complete.

When we adopted Tessa from Ethiopia, the process was relatively swift. On the other hand, this adoption has been too slow. Not only have we spent too much time, the monetary expenses have far exceeded what we anticipated. In the past 7 weeks, out of necessity, we have spent thousands more than we had budgeted and the expenses will continue for some time yet.

If you feel led to help us out financially, we would be deeply grateful but please do not feel any obiligation to do so.  What we would like to ask is that you continue to pray for us, and especially for Calvin and Jasmine, who have been waiting too long for this to be done.
