Service Trip to Tanzania
Donation protected
Our names are Nicole Carney and Megan Welch. We're students at Chestnut Hill College who have recently been given the opportunity to travel across the world to Tanzania this summer. We're going to help young women at a high school by tutoring them in English as a part of a service-immersion trip. Our moderator is Sister Marie Leahy, SSJ, who will accompany us on our trip.
We are headed to the Bigwa Secondary School in Morogoro, Tanzania, a high school for girls and religious women. This is a part of the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) who helps those who cannot afford an education. To prepare for this trip we will be taking a course in the spring semester on the history and culture of Tanzania.
It's a cause all of us strongly believe in, and we are striving to make it a reality. However, we can't do it alone. Though we're honored and excited to be going on this trip, it still comes at a cost - around $2,000 for each of us between airfare, housing, and vaccinations. Please consider helping us achieve this goal!
