Hi all,
I am reaching out to you to help me with my Go Fund Me request for the Next Door Foundation. Since my retirement, I have been fortunate to be a part of the volunteer crew. Pre-Covid, it was a joy to read to excited little ones in the school library. Now, I help with cleaning and repairing gently used books for distribution in the community, a service provided for more than 30 years. Last year, almost 100,000 books were given away! And we are hoping to surpass that!
Next Door is an extraordinary organization educating more than 1,400 children from birth to 5 years old at two locations in Milwaukee’s central city and 11 early childhood partnership sites in the community. Young children are nurtured to love to read and learn through home and center based programs with the goal of getting them prepared for elementary school and beyond. My daughter, an educator, taught me, that we must start young to have children grow up to be life long learners.
