Hygiene for Refugee Women in Moria

In the Moria refugee camp in Lesbos, Greece there are over 6,000 people detained in a space intended for 2,000. The living conditions are horrific, with Médecins Sans Frontières reporting that there are 72 people per functioning toilet and 84 people per functioning shower. While the media and politicians turn a blind eye, refugees continue to arrive, and over 300 people arrived just this past week.
In addition to the appalling conditions, women in this situation are extremely vulnerable to sexual assault. You can help me create a safer, more dignified experience.
For two weeks in August I am volunteering with a project called Showers for Sisters that provides a shower center for the women of the Moria camp. Every day the team picks up women and children from Moria and takes them to the center where they can have a safe space to shower and use the restroom. In addition to the showers, the center offers a relaxation room for women and children, a prayer room, and a space for yoga and exercise classes. When the women leave, they are provided with a new pair of underwear and a care package with hygiene products.
I am raising money in order to help purchase underwear and supplies for the care packages. Each care package includes simple necessities such as a wash cloth, sanitary napkins, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. Larger donations can help offset the costs of transportation to and from the camp. Every amount of your donations will go toward these products and services.
$15 donation: 5 new pairs of underwear
$30 donation: supplies for 5 care packages
$50 donation: fuel for 2 days (van transportation for about 60 women to come to the center)
