Hydrate the Homeless

Donation protected
As students enrolled at San Diego State, we pass by many homeless people who live throughout the campus and in the surrounding cities. They are unsheltered and we are currently heading into a colder season. Not only are they dealing with struggling to pay for food and water, but they are dealing with staying safe during the current pandemic. Our goal is to raise money to buy filtered water bottles, such as the Bobble, and hand them out to homeless people along with a mask. The Bobble filters typically last two to four months which can really make a difference for the homeless people who are severely dehydrated. In the United States, over 60% of the millions of homeless people are children and they already struggle with physical and mental illnesses. They have a higher chance of getting COVID because they are unsheltered. A mask and clean water could make a huge difference for the people struggling. A $10 donation would be able to give a Bobble water bottle and a mask to one homeless person. Reaching $500 would allow us to give a Bobble and a mask to 50 homeless people. That number may seem small compared to the thousands of homeless people in San Diego, but we have to start somewhere. If this fundraiser is successful, we will continue to increase our money goal and increase the amount of people we are able to help! Any donation would be much appreciated.
