Friends, we need your help! Our beloved cat, Iris Van Schwinn, is more than just a pet—she's the loquacious lady of our household, and for those who have spent time with her, you’ve experienced her snuggles, chatter, big ol’ marble eyes, and attitude all her own. If you haven’t been graced with her presence, imagine a chunky, talkative Husky trapped in a Siamese cat’s body, and you'll have a pretty good idea of Iris. She's got opinions on everything, from the flavor of her kibble to the latest episodes of Cat TV (a.k.a. the window view of the bird feeder). She has developed seemingly different cadences, tones, and “words” to use with each member of our household, and while at times her complaints to management can rival those of a level-10 Karen, they have become an endearing part of our life with her.
Recently, Iris’s chattiness has gone from adorable to alarming. Her yowls of unending hunger and insatiable thirst, accompanied by a near constant sense of restlessness and agitation and her rapid weight loss have revealed a diagnosis: hyperthyroidism. Our formerly chonky loaf cat has become a waif of her former self. If you've ever held Iris (or felt the full force of her after a high dive off her cat tree), you know she's typically a fluffy, jolly bundle of joy.
We need your help to get her back to her healthy, chatty, mischievous self. The good news is there’s a treatment called Radioiodine Ablation with a whopping 95% success rate! The bad news? It’s pricey.
We’re reaching out to you, our amazing community, to help save our beloved Iris. We know so many of you have felt the stressors that medical costs for our treasured pets can bring, and we thank you for any help you can share with our family as we navigate this time.
Your contribution will directly impact her recovery and her return to being the lovable chatterbox we adore. By supporting our campaign, you’re not just helping a pet; you’re becoming a hero. Even sharing our message spreads the love and hope she needs.
Thank you for joining us on this journey to save our precious, vocal companion. Your kindness truly makes a difference, and we appreciate your love and assistance!
