Hey All –
As some of you may know, we are ADOPTING domestically (within the US)! Currently, we are "paper pregnant," meaning all our paperwork and home studies have been completed, and we could technically bring home a baby at any time!
Our journey began with the nightmare named infertility about 4 years ago, but has branched into an adoption journey that is much bigger than the two of us. We could probably write for hours about all the layers of our journey and perhaps one day we will… but for now, we can say we’ve seen His hand writing the pages of our story, and it’s a good one, with promises of victory and beauty from ashes.
We believe wholeheartedly that God can provide the necessary funds for our adoption in multiple ways and maybe that includes a campaign such as this. We're excited at the direction God is leading as it allows friends and family the opportunity to join in our adoption story.
The most common question we are asked is, “Why does adoption cost so much?”
Trust me, we wonder that, too. Basically, there are pages of line items with fees associated in adoption. These fees consist of applications, assessments, case management, care for family, marketing, counseling, case management, hospital coordination, legal paperwork, placement, contact work, administration, etc. Despite adoption's extremely high costs, He has called us to do this; so, we are choosing to be obedient to that call...high fees and all!
