Hi we are Pastors Ariel & Michelle Calderon, pastors of 27th Street Revival Center in New Jersey and Glorivee Rusi Graham, David's sister, and we created this page for Pastor/ church planter David Rusi in Cabo Rojo, PR.
He states:
It has been a days since the destructive winds and rains of Hurricane Maria made landfall in of Puerto Rico. The gale force winds ripped the roofs off of homes, uprooted trees and brought down power lines in our hometown and all of Puerto Rico. While some members of the community were blessed to have their homes and personal property spared, many members of our community suffered crippling losses from the storm. The total cost to the local economy is still being calculated and many experts suspect that the total impact will run into the tens of millions of dollars.
Local businesses and infrastructure have been critically damaged throughout Puerto Rico, and
also the residents of our churches and of the communities where our churches reside, Cabo Rojo, Mayaguez, and Moca, PR and other surrounding areas have shouldered a heavy toll. The foundations of houses along the rivers are critically damaged from the rising waters. Fallen limbs and trees are everywhere!
We are thankful for the many organizations and charities from across the country that will come and help but we want to as a church go out and start helping as soon as possible because our neighbors in our community require assistance NOW. Unlike donations to national organizations that can take months to begin distributing funds, your support to us will have an immediate and substantial impact in Cabo Rojo, PR, Mayaguez, PR and Moca,
With your help, our Churches, Cuidad de Refugio, can feed families who have lost everything in the aftermath of the storm, give them a warm place to stay and help rebuild the landmarks that make of the west side of the island such an amazing place to live.
