Hurricane Harvey Cajun Cooking Crew

Donation protected
Thank you in advance for contributing anything you can. We are a group of people who live in the Metro Area of New Orleans and all are Hurricane Katrina survivors and a hell of a group of fun loving caring friends! We believe in working hard, playing hard and most important giving back. All of us survivors of Hurricane Katrina, the massive support and help from friends and strangers we received was humbling. At that point we decided that we would make a commitment to pay it forward for the rest of our lives. Hurricane Harvey is allowing us to put our team in action. Our group includes a variety of people from all walks of life who believe in helping people in times of need.

Our last project was the Great flood in Baton Rouge in August 2016. We were able to serve 1000 meals and distribute school supplies to kids who had just lost everything right before school started. All of this is made possible by donations both monetarily as well as goods.

Our team particpates every year in St Baldricks. We all begin letting our hair (some of us cannot grow it on top of our head anymore so we grow our beards) grow out beginning in November until March. We then shave it all off in support of childhood cancer research. We have helped raised $50,000+ to help end childhood cancer.

BEFORE

AFTER

Our plan is to make our first trip sometime within the next 10 days and your donation is important. Our current plan includes 300 lbs of red beans and rice, all the fixings, COLD water (which anyone who has gutted houses knows is a luxury)  and school supplies. Your donations allow us to increase the number of people we can feed and the number of kids we can help. If you know anyone at a food company who would be willing to donate food please let us know. This is just a scratch to what is needed for the victims of Hurricane Harvey , but having lived through it, we understand how much something so little can mean. Hoping our first trip is we will try to do several more as the process of rebuilding will take years.

if you are interested in donating feel free to email to [email redacted] or call Adam Vodanovich [phone redacted].

We have put a goal of $5,000 but hope the total is much higher. 100% of everything contributed will go directly to the victims through food or supplies. We are not a non-profit and cannot offer a tax dedcution but can assure you that a hot meal, formula, school supply or diapers will help provide some hope for a victim who needs a pick me up.  Feel free to email me or call me with any questions.

Todd Schwander who organizes buying everything and provides all the transportation and trailers will be in charge of the money for this team.
