Hurricane Centre Gales Point Belize
Donation protected
On a recent trip to Gales Point, Belize, I was truly moved by how the people there live on virtually no income. Unemployment is high due to the fact that the locals are limited by their language (Creole). Belize is primarily English and Spanish speaking, thus little work for the those who speak solely Creole.
I spent 5 weeks there meeting locals and the town's representative, Jason, to discuss what could be done to enhance their quality of life. The community's priority is the hurricane centre, which is in disrepair and in need of renovation.
I myself am a retired project manager and I would oversee the project, at no cost. We would hire locals to do the work, in order to restore pride in the community. The building will also serve as a community centre and clinic for the traveling nurse.
After careful inspection of said building, the amount of $25,000 CAD would be needed in order to restore it properly. Your contribution will go a long way to improve the lives of the villagers. I'd like to thank you in advance for your generosity.
