Hunger in Alabama's Black Belt: A Call to Action

Tax deductible
A recent doctoral study by a student at the University of West Alabama revealed that Very Low Food Security (VLFS) among public school students in Alabama's Black Belt is a staggering 11 times the national average. This is more than a mere statistic: it is a call to decisive action.

Want to join us in making a difference? All funds collected will be used to support the Secret Meals program of The West Alabama Food Bank, which provides weekend food assistance for needy students. We are hoping to target public schools in Sumter County, Alabama, an area especially affected by food insecurity.

The West Alabama Food Bank is a not-for-profit distribution center working to feed hungry people in Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Pickens Tuscaloosa, Green, Bibb, Hale and Sumter counties of west Alabama. It is an incredible organization worthy of our support. Will you please help us make a difference in the lives of students in Alabama's Black Belt?
