
Hula Hoop - Thesis Film
Hula Hoop is an ambitious short film chosen by the industry professors at George Brown College to be made by a select group of students. The team of talented students led by the capable Writer/Director Ainslee Thorne, turn to the community for help funding the biggest project of their schooling careers. Any and all donations of any size would be greatly appreciated and will help cover costs such as crew transportation, craft services, wardrobe, props and location permits. The project is not just important to this group of students because it is the last one of their time at George Brown College but holds significant value in starting their young careers upon graduation.
About the Film:
Hula Hoop is a Mocumentray about Mandy Miller, a quirky, sassy, uncoordinated girl in her early 20s who drops out of college in order to pursue her dream of being a hula hoop champion. Entering her small towns local hula hoop competition Mandy struggles with her self confidence while wanting the approval of her parents. Even with her ups and down Mandy is determined to win the competition and prove to everyone what she can do.
