Dear Friends of Hugh

On Friday, the 25th of November 2022, our lovely friend Hugh O’Donnell left us for a new adventure to dance with the angels and shine in the stars. He was a kind, mischievous, intelligent and funny man who shared his love freely and extended the hand of friendship to strangers. Hugh was a prolific artist who made unapologetic, fearless works of art and his death leaves our community at a significant loss.

At this time, we come together for Aaron, Sinead, Andrea, Pauline, Shiro, their extended family and all who loved him to help our friends during this devastating time.

If you are in a position to contribute some money to a collective effort to support his beautiful fiancé Aaron through this time and ease the financial worries that come when a loved one dies. We all know it’s sometimes not possible, so don’t worry if you can’t right now, but if you can contribute, please do.

Hugh recently wrote some text for a performance titled Liminal, and it is shared below.

In between things, may it be a doorway or a slight breeze passing through, in between not knowing what will happen in sleep or awakening. What will happen if I don't see the crossing of the road or the human traffic mark in a field? The space between knowing and feeling isolated, feeling of being left in between and trying to communicate or pass onto the bus, train to get somewhere or just to be left Liminal. Floating with materials that create a visual poetic happening. Can you tell me what it means? And are we really in between something?
