Welcome to Huckleberries - a place to be me. Huckleberries Nurture Farm offers emotionally troubled children and those going through tough times, a place to connect with themselves and others, to grow and recover.
At Huckleberries we use the magical combination of animals, nature immersion, and well-being techniques, such as yoga, art, and mindfulness, in our beautiful rural setting to rekindle the capacity that every child is born with – to be themselves and love who they are, be curious and take risks,
We do this by helping children to develop skills to be more mindful, to adjust how they think about and respond to life’s challenges, and so enhance their emotional well-being and resilience. Most importantly through the curative potential of animal and human interactions, the children realise they are held in the hearts and minds of others, which has a powerful influence on their journey.
We offer fully-funded places (thanks to National Lottery Community Fund support) and self-funded places (for schools able to fund themselves) on our School's Programme, where small groups of children attend for one day each week for six weeks.
We also have an established Nurture Group for children who attend for longer periods (at least a term) which is funded through the child's school, local authority or privately. We are establishing a second Nurture Group offering some full or part-funded places from September 2021.
It costs around £480 per day to run our Nurture Group and money raised through our SPONSOR A CHILD campaign will provide places for children who have no access to funding.
