Huckleberries Nurture Farm

Huckleberries Nurture Farm is a not for profit social enterprise working with children and young people to enhance their mental health and emotional well-being through facilitated therapeutic contact with animals, nature and well-being practices.

Our primary aim is to help children develop skills to adjust the way they think about, react to and cope with day-to-day challenges, and be comfortable with who they are, so as to ease the transition into their teenage years. Our programme combines caring for and working with the animals, exploring nature around us and yoga, mindfulness, meditation, journaling and art.

At Huckleberries we have goats, kids, sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks, and rabbits as well as our border collie and other occasionally adopted animals. Most importantly we offer 'a place to be me' where children feel safe to be themselves and build the resilience they need to fully embrace their teen and adult lives.

We offer fully-funded and part-funded sessions to schools thanks to National Lottery Community funding and can also provide sessions for schools eho are in a position to fund themselves.

Funds raised though this fundraising page will provide animal feed, bedding, and veterinary care, which is one of our biggest overheads and not covered by lottery funding.

Please get in touch if you would like to learn more about us, want to support our work or are a local school and would like to be part of our network.
