PANDAS/PANS Parents Australia

Donation protected
PANDAS/PANS is a form of acute onset brain inflammation that causes devastating neuropsychiatric symptoms and movement disorders in children. It is rarely diagnosed and little understood by the general medical community. Untreated it can lead to a lifetime of mental health issues. However current research shows that the syndrome is treatable, and that early intervention provides the best long term outcomes.

By donating to this fundraiser you will help to raise awareness of PANDAS/PANS diagnosis among medical professionals and the general public here in Australia so that future generations of our children may receive prompt medical treatment.

The event is organised by a parents group and is not for profit. It is an opportunity for parents and doctors of children with PANDAS/PANS to ‘meet the experts’ and hear the latest in research based treatment options.

We have managed to secure  the services of three expert speakers in PANDAS/PANS research and treatment  for a conference scheduled in Sydney Australia November 2017.

All funds raised will be used for the purpose of staging this one day event. Any leftover funds will be donated to support current PANDAS/PANS research being carried out by Professor Russell Dale and his team at Westmead Hospital for Children, Sydney Australia.

The speakers:

Professor Russell Dale: University of Sydney and Westmead Hospital for Children. http://sydney.edu.au/medicine/people/academics/profiles/russell.dale.php

Dr Susan Swedo: Principle Researcher of PANDAS/PANS at the National Institute of Mental Health (United States). https://www.nimh.nih.gov/labs-at-nimh/principal-investigators/susan-swedo.shtml

Dr Jamie Candelaria Greene (United States): Author of PANS/CANS and Automobiles; a guide to PANDAS/PANS in the educational setting. http://candelariagreene.com/

Please support us by donating to this campaign, which will help us to educate parents and doctors and to raise awareness of this rarely diagnosed and little understood illness here in Australia.

Thank You.
