Greenhouse for Mount Desert Elem

Mount Desert Elementary School is building a greenhouse to enhance our education curriculum.  Our mission is two fold; 1) To engage in authentic learning and 2) To support community connections to nature, sustainability, healthy lifestyel choices, and food security through the use of garden and greenhouse spaces.  Learning opportunities that are inquiry based, and hands on learning.  Expand community partnerships and increase viability of Northeast Harbor's year round community.
Our committee did 5 years of research with volunteers and community members involved in every step.  The greenhouse will be a kit fro Gothic Arch Greenhouses and will be 18 by 32 feet; with cypress beams, and triple wall poly-carbonite.
