Rebecca Ellison Memorial Fund

Hello my name is John Clevenger and I am setting up this memorial fund for my partner for the last 18 yrs. Rebecca Ellison. Becky passed away on Novemeber 9th 2015 from stage 4 metastized breast cancer at the age of 39 that had reached her lungs. She was diagnosed April of 2010 with stage 3 breast cancer and quickly began fighting with chemotherapy and radiation. After about a year of treatments the doctors decided she was ready for a double mastechtomy to remove both breasts. The doctors thought they had removed all the cancer and began reconstruction. About half way through the reconstruction the cancer came back and attacked primarilly the calcified bone. So for another 2-3 yrs Becky was walking around with cancer eating away at her skeleton. Even with the pain from the cancer she still insisted on mowing the yard , doing laundry and all the while smiling through the pain. Up until August of this year Becky drove herself to her doctors appiontments, as well as take care of the kids. Her biggest joy in life was her kids Hali 14 and Austin 22.  Becky was a mom first everything else came second.Her smile, her wit, her sense of humor were  unmatched. She was my better half for the last 18 yrs. and a wonderful mother with a drive to be the best mom she could. So now I am trying to honor Becky's memory by raising money for 2 blown glass "sculptures" from a company called Glass Rememberance (www.glassremeberance.com) where they incorporate Becky's ashes into what ever glass piece/jewlery we want as well as fund a celebration of Becky's life to be planned for this summer with food,music and beer. This is what Becky would have wanted. She wouldn't want us to be huddled up in a funeral home morning her passing but to celebrate the joy she had in her life.I have told my kids to pick what ever momentum they want to best remeber their mother by and I will make it happen....but i can't do it alone.So I am setting up this fund to help pay for the 2 glass pieces and for the gathering in her honor. I know we have a lot of friends and family in different places that may not be able to attend the gathering so this may be a way for people to honor Becky's memory. The memorial celebration date and location are yet to be decided but will most likely be toward the end of June and somewhere near the Summersvile/Fayetteville WV area.Everyone is invited and more than welcome to come and join in honoring Becky's memory.
