Chad Brain’s battle against stage 4 cancer

Just an update on Chad ,he started his first round of chemo today … we want to thank everyone for the enormous amount of generosity, love, and prayers we’ve received. The family is determined to give Chad the best care they possibly can. Some of his treatments moving forward along with chemotherapy include vitamin and mineral IV treatments three times a week and oncotherm treatments. The cost of treatment, alongside surviving everyday expenses, is quite overwhelming. We plan to continue raising money to support this family as much as we can. Thank you for your continued support. We are so grateful and blessed to have all of you in our corner❤️ Hi, my name is Danielle Mackenzie and it’s with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to you all regarding my sister Lisa and her beautiful little family . Chad Brain (38) resides out of Pitt Meadows BC with his spouse Lisa (34) and two children Mackenzie (6) and Millie (4months). Chad and Lisa first met in the fall of 2006 after Lisa moved from her hometown Cornwall,PEI to Coquitlam,BC. They instantly hit it off and 17 years later they are still inseparable. Those who know Chad and Lisa are aware that this family has been plagued with medical struggles over the years. Mackenzie was born in December of 2015 with a few medical conditions. Having spent months in the NICU and having to undergo many surgeries, she still has current obstacles to over come. June 29th of this year Lisa and Chad had another beautiful baby girl, Millie. As you can imagine worry, stress and anxiety were elevated hoping for a healthy child. Well that’s exactly what they were blessed with, a beautiful healthy baby girl. ❤️ Well, just over a month ago the unimaginable happened. Just when the family thought all their faith, prayers and hope for a happy healthy family was starting to take form, they received some devastating news about Chad. Chad went to the ER on Thanksgiving day with stomach pain and a CT scan revealed cancer. If that wasn’t shocking enough, it’s a 1 in a million diagnosis. Chad was diagnosed with Stage 4 pseudomyxoma peritonei cancer. The primary source of the disease is believed to be coming from the appendix and has spread to the omentum (lining of the abdomen). The survival rate is low but we will never give up hope. Unfortunately, As the primary caregiver to the family, chad is currently unable to work due to his illness and is awaiting a treatment plan to prolong his quality of life. Lisa is currently on maternity leave taking care of their children, house and needs of Chad. Lisa and Chad’s family are also doing their best to help support them, but the cost of Household,travel and medical expenses are imminent and overwhelming.
