Housefire at Animal Rescuer’s Home

Hi, my name is Cassandra and I along with fellow animal rescue volunteer Danielle Ranch are raising funds for our rescue partner in Kentucky, Jessica Harris.

Jessica has rescued countless dogs from deplorable conditions in Kentucky and has rehabilitated them and taken care of them in preparation of finding eligible rescues and adopters. She has opened her heart and home to many rescues and has never asked for anything in return. We have loved having Jessica as our rescue partner and she has sent some of the most amazing dogs to our rescue here in Canada.

On Saturday January 7th, 2023 Jessica & her family lost everything in a house fire. Their home has been destroyed and is not livable and all of their clothing and home supplies have been lost. On top of this 10 dogs lost their lives and were not able to be saved in time; seven of which were foster dogs and three of which were personal pets. They unfortunately do not have home owners insurance and it will be extremely costly for them to rebuild their lives.

We are raising funds for the family to begin to get their lives back on track. We are also collecting clothing, shoes, toiletries & non-perishable food items that will be personally delivered to the family on our next rescue transport trip to Kentucky which will be taking place at the end of the month.

Our hearts go out to this family who have done so much to save the lives of southern dogs. We cannot imagine the pain involved in losing your home, your valuables, and precious dogs’ lives.

Rest in peace Buddy, Bella, Sampson, Lil Bit, King, Shadow, Nova, Abby & a litter of 2 5 week old puppies.. you will never be forgotten.
