House of Hope Wish List

Dear Family and Friends,
As you already know, we are spending more and more time in Panama. When we chose to live part-time in Panama, we knew we wanted to contribute to the community through a deserving organization that supports education for young people and volunteer our time on a regular basis. We are happy to share that we found one, The House of Hope. The House of Hope (HoH) selects girls from the most poverty- stricken areas of Panama that have demonstrated strong academic achievement, but due to an impoverished family situation would not be able to attend a 4-year university. Currently, the HoH provides college tuition, housing, food, and support to 15 girls, but has a capacity for 22 in total. These girls have left their homes and families with a 5-year year commitment to live at the HoH. These past weeks we have been volunteering our time to make much needed physical improvements to the house itself to ensure the girls have working bathrooms, useable kitchen, sturdy bunkbeds, etc. There is much work to be done and we need your help to help these girls achieve a college education in an environment that promotes success! Below is a list of things needed to make this happen:
1. Mattresses (4)
2. New toilets (2)
3. Computers (2)
4. Internet Router
5. Fans (several)
6. Vacuum cleaner
7. Repair refrigerator
8. Repair washer and dryer
9. Miscellaneous home repairs
Our goal is to raise $1000.00 by March 11, 2018. We found a donor that would like to remain anonymous who will match our $1,000.00 goal. Let’s do this together!
