hospital bills relief

Our loving Nanay Virginia Barrago passed away unexpectedly last Sept 17, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital. She was here as a visitor to help her son and daughter-in-law take care of her 3 small grandchildren age 4, 2 & 1 y/o. Because she babysits the grandchildren, her son and daughter-in-law were able to work. Her medical insurance expried few weeks ago and is due to be renewed as soon as she gets her extention to stay as a visitor in Canada. The Christening of her 2 grandchildren was scheduled in the afternoon of Sept. 16. In the morning of the Christening day, Nanay Virginia fell unconscious and had a heart attack. We called 911 and the paramedics came. She was unresponsive and the cardiac monitor shows a flat-line. After few minutes of aggressive treatment by the paramedics they were able to get a pulse and she was transported to St. Boniface Hospital but still unconscious. She was then admitted in the ICU. Tests were done, including CT scan and MRI of the head. She remained unresponsive and unconcsious. The MRI result showed massive brain damage. We were told about the reality that the chances of recovery is less than 1%. We then made the heartbreaking decision to take-off all life-support machines. Before this, Nanay Virginia received the last sacrament from a priest in the hospital. Funeral viewing will be on Sept. 21, 2018, 6 pm to 12 mn at Mosaic Funeral 1839 Inskter Blvd., Winnipeg.
Being a Visitor and her insurance expired, our family now is facing a financial burden from the hospital bills and funeral cost. We would greatly appreciate and help from you.
