Stand for Love

We live amid a significant, powerful movement in our country, with those people historically marginalized, devalued and mistreated saying, “Time’s up.” No longer will victims remain entrapped by guilt, shame and oppression. No longer will these voices be silenced by those who abuse positions of power and who fail to protect basic human rights.

Stopping this cycle of oppression starts at home. For me, it begins with supporting a friend who is facing devastating legal bills in an effort to preserve truth, freedom and dignity and prevent oppressors from silencing them.

I’ve financially assisted as much as I can, but legal fees are growing rapidly beyond my ability to help all on my own.

Not every incident of abuse comes with physical markers. Not every victim receives a national moment in the spotlight or a hashtag. Some victims don’t have black eyes or bruises, but they are scarred nonetheless. But all victims deserve support from kind, giving people showing compassion in whatever ways they can for fellow struggling human beings and innocent children.

I’m asking friends and family to assist me in raising money to help my friend with emergency legal fees. Money raised will go directly to the law firm representing my friend. No further details of this person’s case can be disclosed due to legal concerns, but I vouch for the dire need and absolute worthiness of their cause.

Every dollar counts and will sow seeds of love and unity into the life of one who is a beacon of light to so many others.  Your blessing of $5, $10 or whatever is in your heart to contribute is deeply appreciated.  Together, we can begin the ripple effect that will help create positive change in the lives of my friend and many more to come. Together, we can create postitve change in the world one person at a time.

The goal is high but the need for help in this case is far greater. Together we can make a difference and not let the silencing of truth destroy lives.
