Help with transplant after care recovery

Hello everyone!

It's been a long time coming and on Friday the 27th October 2023 at 10:35pm I got the call I have been waiting for over 3 years.

Westmead Hospital in Sydney called to say they had a new kidney and pancreas for me from a deceased donor.

The next morning they flew me to Sydney early and I started all the pre transplant work up tests. Later that afternoon I was in surgery.

During surgery I needed a blood transfusion after Iosing a litre of blood.

Now I am recovering and adjusting to my new organs and all the new medications I will need to take for the rest of my life. Mostly anti recjection and anti viral to prevent getting sick and to prevent my body rejecting the new organs.

I will be forever grateful to my deceased donor and this precious gift I received because of ther generosity and decision to become and organ donor.

My condolences also go out to the family who are this time are grieving the loss of a loved one.

I am posting regular updates about my recovery and you can read all about my journey and what I've been through along the way.

These new meds come with side effects and I'm currently on 30 different pills daily. I am slowly adjusting. They are also costly around $400 per month.

I am asking if people can pray for my recovery as well as follow and share my story and if possible donate anything they can spare. Every little bit helps and will go toward expenses and towards my medications while I am unable to work.
