Honoring the Life of Michael 'Rene' Rojas

In Loving Memory of Michael "Rene" Rojas

With a heart full of grief, I share the loss of my beloved son, Michael "Rene" Rojas, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 58. Rene was more than just a son to me—he was a devoted brother, loyal friend, and a constant source of light and joy in the lives of those who knew him.

Born on November 23, 1966, Rene had a passion for life that shone through in everything he did. As an exceptional athlete, he was known for his discipline, skill, and fierce competitive spirit. His love for sports was matched only by his incredible generosity, kindness, and the care he showed to everyone around him.

Rene attended St. Matthew’s for grade school and later graduated from Brophy College Preparatory, where he made lifelong friends and created cherished memories. His time at Brophy was formative, and the friendships he built there stayed with him throughout his life.

Rene worked for the Washington School District for many years, providing essential support to the district's Management Information System (MIS) team. His dedication to his work, along with his caring and collaborative nature, made him an invaluable member of the team. Rene wasn't in the classroom, but his impact was felt deeply by his colleagues and the students whose lives he indirectly touched through his work. He always went above and beyond, ensuring that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. His commitment to service was evident, and his positive presence will never be forgotten.

Rene was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Rojas, who he missed dearly. He is survived by his father, Michael M. Rojas, his stepmother, Rhonda Rojas, and his siblings: Anthony, Rose, Matthew, Gabriel, and Krista. Rene also leaves behind his beloved fur baby, Missy Mo, who was always by his side.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we take comfort in knowing that Rene’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Rene will forever hold a place in our hearts, and we are forever grateful for the time we shared with him.
