Honoring Roberto West with support for his family
All those who knew Roberto West are devastated by his sudden passing on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 41 years old. Roberto's family, his wife Brittany and eight-year-old son Gino, are so proud of the strength and courage he showed before succumbing to complications from a heart attack.
Roberto lived his life by example, touching countless lives with his generous spirit and uplifting positivity. As an exceptional husband to Brittany, he showed what true partnership looks like. As a dedicated father to Gino, he poured his heart into every moment they shared, from early morning baseball practices to cheering on their beloved Yankees together. After tough games, Roberto encouraged Gino and his teammates by emphasizing that “there are only wins and lessons, never losses.”
His bright smile and friendly demeanor lit up every room he walked into. Roberto had this remarkable way of treating everyone he met with genuine kindness and respect – whether it was a longtime friend or someone he'd just met at one of Gino's baseball games. He lived by the simple but powerful belief that every person deserved to be treated with an open heart and welcoming spirit. Never taking a day for granted, Roberto wrote in his journal on January 1, 2025, “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years.”
One of Roberto's greatest joys was watching his son, Gino, play baseball. He never missed a game, cheering as Gino smashed home runs and stole bases. Roberto's face would beam with pride watching Gino dominate on the diamond and drive balls deep into the outfield. His dream was (and still is) to see Gino continue growing in the sport, and absorbing — through baseball — all the character-building lessons that Roberto valued so deeply.
Though devastated, Brittany and Gino are comforted by the warm embrace of family, friends, the Las Vegas baseball community, and many others. This GoFundMe represents a meaningful way to honor Roberto’s legacy by keeping Gino on the baseball diamond – something Roberto would have wanted more than anything – while helping Brittany focus on healing during this difficult time.
100% of funds will go directly to the West family to support them in the weeks, months, and years that lie ahead.
Your support, no matter the amount, will help Gino carry his father's spirit onto every baseball diamond he plays on.
