Lila Kolker passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 68, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Born in 1956 in Jefferson, Iowa, to Warren and Elaine Betts, she graduated from Le Mars High School in 1974 and received a Legal Secretary certification from the American Institute of Business. In 1977, she married Dean Melvin Kolker, an Army Sergeant, and spent 26 years as an army wife and advocate for military spouse support through the Army Family Team Building organization. After Dean's retirement, they settled in Rolla, Missouri, where Lila worked for 23 years at Missouri S&T. She was passionate about traveling, collecting lighthouses, cross-stitching, and supporting Boy and Girl Scouts, earning the Silver Beaver and Order of the Arrow honors. Diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2023, she fought bravely for 18 months. Lila is survived by her husband, Dean, her children Jennifer, Jessica, and Justin, two grandsons, and her siblings.
