Hi, I am Sarah from Westway Transport Solutions LLC. We are a yellow cab leasing company and tragically, one of our drivers was found dead on Wednesday night. His name was Khalifa H Siwa. Brother Khalifa has been working with us for about a year. He was from Tanzania and had no immediate family in USA. He was known to me to be a very quiet, humble and hard-working person. He lived most of his life in USA and he was the eldest of 4 Brothers. He lived his life taking care of his family until his last day. He was a NYC Yellow Taxi driver and spent most of his time driving around the streets of New York. On Wednesday September 2nd, 2026, we were notified that he was found dead on the Henry Hudson Parkway at an emergency stop designated area. Police found him with his diabetes injection in his hand as we knew he had been dealing with medical issues for a few months. He recently had a stroke and the last week of July; he was admitted for a few days in the hospital due to his diabetes. We are saddened by the news of his passing and immediately tried to find friends and family to inform them of the news. We have found friends who knew him since his childhood and the type of person he was. As an eldest brother he took care of his family & mother. He gave everything for them and even put his brothers through college. We are here trying to give our final farewell to him and upon the family's wishes, transport him back to his hometown in Tanzania. He was a Muslim; we are in coordination with Islamic International Funeral services and the Tanzanian Consulate to get him to his final resting place. Our Brother is depending on us to get him to his final home. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
