Wilmington Veterans Memorial - Eagle Scout Project

Welcome to my project page! My name is Liam Prigmore. I'm from Wilmington, and I'm a Life Scout in BSA Troop 56. For my Eagle Scout Project, I wanted to help an organization and a cause that is important to me. I'm raising money for an Honor Roll Memorial on the Wilmington Town Common.  In the Spring, I reached out to the Wilmington Department of Veterans Services to discuss potential projects. One of the ideas that we had that stuck with me was that of an Honor Roll Memorial. An Honor Roll is a list of names of all the service members from Wilmington who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country. Many neighboring towns have Honor Rolls, and it's only fitting that Wilmington's heroes be memorialized. I feel extremely passionate and patriotic about our town and our country, so I set out to make this happen.  I worked with Skylight Studios in Woburn to design a plaque layout that will include all 32 names, an eagle design, and a meaningful quote. I am also grateful to the town of Wilmington DPW, as well as Quality Additions and Remodeling in Wilmington for their assistance in securing a stone for the plaque, a concrete base for the stone, and site prep. I am fundraising for the cost of the bronze plaque from Skylight Studios.  All donations go through Local Heroes, a non-profit organization that serves veterans in Wilmington and surrounding communities. In a time where many of us are separated and distanced, I feel that this project is a meaningful way to bring the community closer together. The dedication date for the monument is November 11, Veteran's Day this year. Our mission is to continue to serve veterans by dedicating all our resources and assistance in helping our heroes and their family member through any problems or issues that arise so that we can assist them with re-integrate veterans back into civilian life.
