Home sweet home 4 Bowles family

I've created this go fund me account for the amazing Bowles family and specifically a friend of mine, Stephanie. The Bowles family this year embarked on the exciting journey of building their "forever home" on some family land. They got bids from multiple people and ultimately picked someone they grew up with, trusted and whom gave them an amazing bid. They moved in with Stephanie's sister while construction took place on their existing house to demo it and build their dream home off of the existing structure. They gave this contractor $40,000 for the 1st installment and to get the ball rolling. Week after week this person (we'll call them "D-bag" for short) promised to come out and start the job, but never came. After giving the Bowles family the run around for weeks and after threatening to contact a lawyer "d-bag" came to their property and dug a little in the yard enough to hit their water line and crack their septic tank and then took off. He never returned to finish the job OR start, for that matter. Instead the Bowles family were given a text message from D-bag to contact d-bags lawyer because the job wouldn't be getting done and their $40,000 wouldn't be given back. Now the Bowles family are stuck, in more ways than one. They can't move back into their home due to the damage cause by d-bags whooping 30mins of "work" and now owe their bank $40,000 plus interest for nothing. They also now can't get a builders loan because they need to get 80% financed and with $40k in d-bags pocket they now would need to borrow more money to offset that cost than what 80% would be. (Now im hoping you see why this persons name is "d-bag")

So that being said any little amount to help them pay back the bank so they can get a non d-bag contractor to build the house they deserve would be appreciated!!!! Even enough to fix their current house so they can move back in until this all hopefully is settled in court (it could take years) that would be appreciated also.
