Watch their video here: https://youtu.be/olu5iTgTCWg Hurricane Laura came on August 27th, 2020 and with it she took the livelihoods and homes of many people leaving a path of destruction and devastation. She took what hope was left after horrific year of Covid-19. This family’s story is truly heartbreaking. They have suffered death, devastation, and with no hope in sight, what little income that was coming in has been used for survival purposes only. The house they have owned for over 20 years, but with no home owner’s insurance, there is no money left over to make the repairs needed. Hurricane Laura took an already broken roof, and ripped the rest of it off. She left this precious family with wet interior sheetrock throughout which has now created a mold and mildew problem. Walls are broken to the exterior from the inside. Flooring is missing. Furniture is minimal and in terrible condition. Appliances are all broken and in need of replacement. Broken window are seen throughout the home. No central air or heat. There are many electrical and plumbing issues. I can not do this without the help of many, but God has breathed this into me that I must help. I have prayed many prayers that this link will land in the right hands of those that can donate money for materials or even materials themselves. From there, we would love to help them make this house they have called home for 20 years a place of rest and comfort for this family. People that need help often have no idea where to turn, and it is important that we show them they are seen, heard, loved, and valued the way our God sees each and every person on this earth. It can feel depressing and hopeless, but all it takes is one person to set a fire and I’m praying that I am able to do that with the hearts and souls that watch their story, follow their story, and we together can provide refuge for this family.
