Home alterations for our amazing son Riley.

We are raising money to help with an adapted extension for Riley which will give him the space he needs and the equipment we need to safely wash, lift and care for Riley on a day to day basis. It will also allow to have a fully adapted bedroom and bathroom dedicated to him to help with his night care as Riley requires care through the night also. The additional space will enable us to function better as a family, meet Riley’s ever  growing needs and create space to help with an overnight care person on a regular basis. For those that do not know us Riley was born with a condition called CMV. The effects can have a range of different complications which are individual to the person affected. In Rileys case he has severe physical complications resulting in him being unable to stand or sit un- aided, he is unable to grasp and pick things up himself. He is non verbal so unable to communicate his needs directly to us, he also has to use cochlea implants to hear. Riley also suffers seizures due to epilepsy he needs one to one care on a 24hour basis. Despite all this he is a happy and determined boy who is always showing signs of progression. His milestones are very small and take a long time for him but we see this as progress at Riley’s pace. 

We hope to complete the alteration works to help live as normal a family life as possible, this will also greatly help with Riley’s older sister Charlie and her everyday life. It will also give us flexibility in the future to add to and alter our home to meet Riley’s needs as he grows. Any donation towards the project would be greatly received and go to a very good cause.
