Hollies journey with Trichotillomania

Myself and Hollie are trying to raise funds for her to have a hair treatment to help her with her Trich.
Hollie suffers with a condition called Trichotillomania (Trich). Trich is one of a group of impulse control disorders which means that although you don’t want to pull your hair, you simply cannot help yourself.
Hollie has suffered with Trich since the age of 7 and originally had it in small areas and it came in short waves, but unfortunately throughout the years her condition has become more excessive especially the last 12 months. As a result we have been informed that she will eventually develop a condition called traction alopecia meaning her hair will no longer grow back. This is something she is already starting to experience as her hair is all different lengths and patchy to the point she has also pulled her fringe out and the top of her hair making it harder to hide but also resulting in her no longer being able to put it up or down and so it can no longer be hidden. As you can imagine, this is causing Hollie to experience constant anxiety Especially when she is currently studying A-Level dance and drama so being able to stand on stage feeling confident is a huge goal for her.
Most Trich sufferers usually tend to pull from the same area but there are a select few that are known as Trich Grazers, meaning they pull from all over and wherever possible. As Hollie is a grazer, her treatment is slightly more intense and expensive as she will require a full head piece for it to work.
since setting up the go fund me page we have been informed of another treatment available to help Hollie this is called a Skalp_d hair piece that will sit on the top of Hollie’s head not only will this stop her from being able to get to her own hair and pull but is also a less intrusive procedure for her. We originally set up the go fund me for an interlace treatment, but since being shown this style of treatment we feel it is more of a better fit for Hollie.
A Hair Salon local to us called Synergy Hair and Beauty in Studley, Warwickshire have been amazing in helping us find the best treatment for Hollie. Maxine has been so understanding and professional with regards to Hollie’s condition and the beginning of her journey to being able to have a full head of hair where she can approach everyday life and all activities with confidence. We have been informed that the cost of the treatment would be £2500 for the initial hair piece then a further £200 every 4 weeks for scalp treatment and a refit.
We would like to try and just get to the £2500 to be able to get the ball rolling for Hollie so any donations big or small are a huge help.
Hollie will also be having a therapy alongside her treatment to give her the best opportunity at overcoming TRICH.
