Help with Travel Insurance for my Brother

Donation protected
This is my big brother, Dan. He has been and still is, battling Esophageal Cancer since July 2019. I'm trying to raise money so that he can have travel insurance (which is £3500 alone) & some funding for his holiday in Florida with his kids in July 2020. He hasn't been well enough to work since his treatment started in July 2019, and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future. I will keep this campaign running until the beginning of June 2020 in the hope we can raise enough to pay his insurance 1 month prior to travel.

He is currently struggling to adapt after his life-altering surgery (2/3rd of his Esophagus removed, and 1/3rd of his stomach removed); He is constantly sick, bringing up what little food he can now eat in one sitting (less than a handful.) He is still losing weight every day since his surgery at the beginning of 2020. He will be having more chemotherapy in the coming weeks. It is traumatizing, to say the least, for him and our family - but we are staying strong, and are eagerly awaiting the day that he is cancer-free and able to resume a normal lifestyle.

For anyone that knows him, you know that he is a kind, caring, incredible person, who cares more about others than himself. He is also amazing, loving father - It will be so good for his mental health and wellbeing after the struggle of the past months to enjoy a nice holiday with his family, with peace of mind that he has insurance and not to be tied down and unable to enjoy himself because of current financial issues. The insurance cost is absolutely shocking and so unexpected since this holiday was planned before he was diagnosed.

Here is his story so far:

After months of planning the perfect holiday, Dan booked and paid for his flights + accommodation in April 2019 to go to Florida.

A few weeks later, it had become apparent that he was having difficulty swallowing his food, and so decided to book a Doctor's appointment. He was referred for an Endoscopy (a camera down the throat) in June 2019, where they had found a Tumor growing in his esophagus, near his stomach. After an agonizing wait for Biopsy results, he was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer in July 2019.

A few weeks (and scans) after diagnosis, he was given the go-ahead to start chemotherapy and pushed through like a champion, finishing his treatment in time for Christmas,  with its complications... We had a massive scare after his final round of chemo just before Christmas. He became very ill and was taken into Bristol Royal Infirmary after developing a chest infection which had almost developed into pneumonia. It was a massive relief when he fought that off, and his Chemotherapy was finished.

Following some more scans and consultations, he was given the go-ahead for an Esophagectomy - Major surgery where two-thirds of the Esophagus, and one-third of the stomach is removed.

He has recently battled through the surgery and been discharged from hospital, to start on his road to recovery at home, and to prepare himself for another round of chemotherapy.

Thank you for reading, and I would like to thank everyone in advance for any donations, and any support messages received during these unforgiving times.

P.S - I would like to remind anyone reading this who experiences heartburn (acid reflux) on a regular basis to go and see a doctor.  We never thought much of the damage it can cause until this all happened. Please spread this message so that more people know that it isn't to be taken lightly.
