Merhaba

We are a group living in Toronto, coming together to sponsor and support an Eritrean refugee during their first year of settlement. As a group, we feel moved by the ongoing migrant crises around the world and desire to take action. Inspired by our close friend and activist Dawit, himself a former Eritrean refugee, we came together to help more newcomers find a new home. Your donation will assist this individual with their living costs and daily needs as well as with the high cost of rent in Toronto. All funds raised will go directly to the support of this person.

We chose to call our sponsorship team, Merhaba, which means “welcome” and a casual hello in Arabic, a commonly spoken language in Eritrea.
