Mosquito Nets for Puerto Rico

Donation protected
Over one month after Hurricane Maria, the majority of Puerto Rico remains without power or running water.

People are sleeping with open windows due to no AC, and collecting rain water in large vats, where it stands and breeds mosquitoes.

The inevitable next step is for an epidemic of mosquito-borne illnesses such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika to break out, causing additional stress on an already devastated population and badly strained healthcare system.

Despite being super careful and using DEET and window screens, every day I was in PR I got at least half a dozen new mosquito bites. I was there for under 2 weeks. Multiply that by several months and that's what local residents have to contend with.

Most people I met don't have any bed netting, and there are no nets to be found at stores there. Trust me, we looked!

I would like to buy as many as possible and send them directly to a contact I made in one of the communities I visited so they can be distributed there.

Lots of you have asked me how you can help. This is a very real, very concrete, and very solvable need that I could really use your help with.

Thanks in advance for your support!
