As many of you know Shanel was diagnosed recently with stage III invasive breast cancer. She went in to have a lump on the left side of her breast checked the week of Christmas. After a routine biopsy we found out she had A typical cells and a gene mutation called BRCA 2.
With this information Shanel and her doctors decided the only option was to have a bilateral mastectomy which happened last week on February 7th.
Unfortunately this is only the start to her road of recovery. In a few weeks Shanel will also begin her chemotherapy and radiation treatments over the course of the next year.
Being stay at home mom of two beautiful children, Shanel has never been good about asking for help when they need it most. My son, Jesse, lost his job at the end of January and he’s never left her side through any of this. Now is the time they need help more than ever. Please help release some stress by donating a few dollars so they don’t have to worry about affording diapers and household essentials while trying to cover all the bills and medical expenses.
