Hey Pretty Campaign

Hello, my name is Maya Marchelle, and I am an artist and author from Minneapolis, Minnesota. My desire to help young black women recognize how much their existence means to the world inspired me to write and publish a coloring book titled, Hey, Pretty! But what does it really mean to be "pretty?" Unfortunately, this word has had the power to both build up and tear down women and girls for centries based on beauty standards of the broader culture, particularly for African American females.

My own self-esteem journey brought me to the realization that a mirror image of "pretty" would never be enough unless it was embraced as God's image. I've been able to witness first-hand how this song inspired book has been able to postitively impact the confidence of girls and women from various backgrounds and geographic locations. However, I know that there is still an audience that will greatly benefit from this message but have been unable to recieve simply due to socioeconomic status.

The purpose of the "Hey Pretty Campaign" is to get books into the hands of 5000 young women and girls at no cost! Will you help me?
