Here's to Lenina's Health

Fam:  Over the summer, our Len had a major health scare.  You may remember she ended up in the hospital for almost a week, and thankfully survived kidney stones, septic shock, and 3 surgeries. 

As you know, having healthcare is critical, but because we don't have the best healthcare system, having health insurance doesn't mean your costs are covered.  When the dust settles, after you fight with insurance, you may still have out of pocket costs that are too much for most of us.

And that's the case with our friend.  For Lenina, the costs amounted to close to $10,000 above the $90,000 that was covered by her work health plan. 

On top of that, Lenina continued to have turmoil with her family that led to her daughter being out of school for 2 months while she started a new job in the Bronx. She really was not able to reset, heal and move forward the way she may have liked. 

Luckily, it’s a new year! Please join me in celebrating that we have our friend Lenina.  She made it through a rough period with her health.

Lend a hand to help out and make sure that she doesn't have a rougher financial period because of it. 

Let’s see if we can raise $3,000 to offset some of her healthcare costs. 

And she wants to offer lots of love to those of you who cooked and/or sent meals, books, take out credit, texts, and visited her at home or in the hospital over the summer.
