Sherrie's Wheelchair Lift

Hi, my name is Sherrie Karet.

After a major fall in 2000, I started having trouble walking and have been in a wheelchair ever since. Due to the nature of my disabilities, numerous chronic illnesses set in. Walking even short distances became impossible for me.

I suffer from numerous chronic illnesses including, severe fibromyalgia, debilitating osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, severe spinal stenosis, and others.

I use a power wheelchair which keeps me independent and able to live alone. I am in need of a new wheelchair lift for my van. Without a new lift, I will no longer be able to put my wheelchair in the car and will not be able to do even simple tasks like visit and play with my grandchildren, grocery shopping, or attending my pool therapy sessions which offer me some relief. I am afraid without the new lift, I will slowly lose my ability to live independently.

I am hoping to raise $5000 to pay for the cost of a new lift and the accessories for my wheelchair that allow it to attach to the lift. My medical insurance will not cover any of this expense and I am on disability, unable to work, and cannot afford it on my own.

I would be forever grateful for anything that people are willing to give. In reality, this would save my life.
