Brian, Sean, James, and Mitch's work with Refugees

Dear Friends,
 

On March 24,  Brian, Sean, James, Mitch, Tyler and Keller will fly to Romania, then drive to Moldova where they will provide humanitarian relief and transportation to refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. They have been in direct communication with people on the ground in Moldova who are providing relief and assessing needs. The needs are significant. All four of them speak Russian and will be able to communicate with both the refugees and service coordinators.

 

A typical day for the group will consist of buying supplies in Moldova in the morning and delivering these supplies to refugees at the Moldovan border. They will also be shuttling those that need transportation to access hospitals, relatives, distant acquaintances, shelters, and or churches that are much further from the conflict.

 

If you would like to join the effort to show love and support to Ukrainian refugees, we invite you to make a donation. Your donations will go directly to purchase the following items:

 

–Basic necessities (food, hygiene supplies, blankets, etc.). Items will be purchased in consultation with volunteers that have been working at the border for weeks and are aware of the most in-demand items.

–SIM cards and portable phone charging stations that will make it possible for refugees to use their cell phones after crossing the border

–Transportation expenses. Shelters near the borders are full and all refugees must travel further West to obtain housing. They need drivers to take these women and children to safe locations. 

 

All of these items are available for purchase in Moldova, so we won’t be collecting physical items at this time.
