Helping the Clayton's Create Their Forever Family

Thank-you for taking the time to support our family journey by reading our story. We hope you will consider partnering by praying for our sweet family and would prayerfully consider supporting Jason and Traci financially as well.

Jason and Traci’s love story began in 2007 when they both worked for a christian outdoor camp. Their relationship quickly blossomed and they were married in 2011. Early conversations in their relationship revealed both Jason and Traci had a deep desire to adopt. This desire was so deeply embedded in both of them that they knew it was their first choice to start their family.

In late 2016 Jason and Traci officially started their adoption journey. It was a grueling process but they were ever faithful and hopeful in every step of the way. Waiting and praying was difficult but they remained stedfast in their hope for a family. After two years of continual set-backs and heartache, they received a call in June of 2019 explaining they had been chosen! They couldn’t believe their ears, Jason told me, “I just felt everything. Everything at once.” They would go to meet their beautiful baby two days later. Meeting Baby Clayton, they were so overjoyed that they couldn’t even talk, they just all cried and rejoiced with this beautiful ten day old baby. When describing their first meeting, Traci said, “(baby) was truly everything I had envisioned my child to be.” The entire family celebrated with excitement and tears of joy as well. For me personally, we had been praying for this day for years so I cried and cried when I received the news. My boys were so excited to now have a baby cousin that they made a video to send to (baby.) We couldn’t believe how perfect their new baby was, or how perfectly the Lord had laid out the entire process. In retrospect they could see the Lord’s hand in every aspect.

Jason and Traci have always been such naturals when it comes to parenting. Jason has always had gift with little ones, and Traci is incredible when it comes to loving on her “kids” over the years in her classroom with kids with severe to profound disabilities. They are so great in fact, that Duane and I have chosen them as our godparents for our own three children.  Parenting Baby Clayton has been a pure joy since day one (well day ten!) Traci has expressed that they knew they always wanted to be parents, but they never realized how much was missing before Baby Clayton. “(Baby) was the missing piece, and it fits perfectly,” she has expressed. Baby Clayton has the biggest and brightest smile anyone has ever seen, (baby) radiates pure joy and “smiles with his/her whole body.”

As many of you know adoptions are a lengthy and a very expensive process. Domestic adoptions can range from $30,000- $45,000. This is the cost for an average adoption, with no hiccups along the way. Currently Jason and Traci and five month old Baby Clayton are facing additional legal fees due to unforeseen circumstances. We know the Lord has Baby Clayton in the palm of His hand.  More importantly than contributing financially we are asking for you to partner with us in prayer to keep our family strong.

Please prayerfully consider contributing to Jason and Traci financially as well as through prayer.  We would like to have a little fun with this process as well. We have partnered with some friends all across the country and “Beards for Baby” was ‘born!’ Throughout this fundraising journey our friends will shave their beloved beards to raise funds for Baby Clayton. Who wants to see Jason Clayton shave that face?! I know I do! Jason has promised if $20,000 is raised he will shave, live on facebook!

The following men have volunteered to shave for the following benchmarks:

Duane Clayton         $25,000
Brian Spanner            $35,000
Scott Kilby                  $45,000
LTC Duane Clayton    $50,000 (this man will shave his head ya’ll!)

Thank-you for taking the time to read this far. Truly, your prayers are important to us and your love for our family is truly a blessing.

1 Samuel 1:27 I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.

With His Love,
Skylea Clayton
