Over the past year, our family has faced numerous health challenges with our beloved furry companions, and we find ourselves in a difficult financial situation due to unexpected vet bills. With your help, we hope to ease the burden and ensure that our pets receive the care they desperately need.
Last year, I unfortunately lost my job, causing a significant strain on our family's finances. After a long period of unemployment, I have finally been able to secure work again, but it is the very start of trying to rebuild our financial stability. Meanwhile, our animals have experienced various health issues that have strained our ability to support them. Andrea, our pet-mom, works at a veterinary clinic and has exhausted the credit options available to us for covering vet bills.
Here is a breakdown of the challenges our furry friends have been facing:
- Two emergency surgeries: We had to have life-saving surgeries last year, putting a considerable financial burden on us.
- Heartworm health scare: We went through a terrifying episode with one of our pets, requiring extensive diagnostics and ongoing monitoring.
- Jackson's dental issues: Despite having a cleaning two years ago, Jackson's teeth are in desperate need of attention, and he has a potential gum infection.
- Sokka's conditions: Sokka, who is blind and has a heart murmur, suffers from stomatitis—an autoimmune condition causing gum inflammation. He requires a specialized diet to manage his teeth and gum health.
- Tazzy's health struggles: Tazzy has lost a significant amount of weight, and we have recently discovered she has a thyroid condition that necessitates lifelong medication. She also has liver disease, the extent of which is still uncertain.
- Eclipsa's severe allergies: Our dear Eclipsa requires prescription food, medications, and immunotherapy to alleviate her discomfort.
